After getting a task to attempt to define what value AI provides at work I found out something interesting.
There is no 'intelligence' AI is at best a Probablistic AutoComplete at scale.
Nothing intelligent there at all, no prospect of intelligence and it can only autocomplete something it has been trained on, so no original ideas will be forthcoming.
This is what copilot described itself as, when i questioned why it was so bad at providing code for my shared library.
It also admitted that shared libraries were its Worst Case Scenario - would have been nice to lead with that rather than let me burn through hours and hours of fault checking its shitty output..
Not worth any money in a IPO, do not invest as you will lose all your money. This tech has been overhyped and there is no room in the market for the current constellation of AI providers at the price they are selling. This version of AI will go the way of Clippy the paperclip - except in those use cases where it actually excels, and those use cases cannot ever generate the 4 trillion dollars required to make AI profitable.
